Installing Gnome 3.10 in Ubuntu 13.10:

We will take some time to install Gnome 3.10 with several PPAs and assign the upgrade. I assume that your network speed is good, if not, you can use some tips to improve Ubuntu13.10 system performance.

Step 1: Install GDM [Optional]

The first step is to install GDM and the default LightDM. This is optional, but still advise you as many people to remind the LightDM problem (this sentence is not fluent, but do not understand, also requested the team leader to look at). Open the terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) and use the following command:

Sudo apt-get install gdm
When prompted, select GDM.

Step 2: Add PPAs and upgrade the system

Sudo apt-get install gnome-weather gnome-music gnome-maps gnome-documents gnome-boxes gnome-boxes gnome-shell-extensions gnome-tweak-tool gnome-clocks

Uninstalling Gnome 3.10:

Do not like Gnome 3.10? Do not worry, uninstall them by deleting PPA. To do this, you need to install PPA Purge (if not already installed). Use the following command:

Sudo apt-get install ppa-purge
After that, install the PPA you installed:

Sudo ppa-purge ppa: gnome3-team / gnome3-staging
Sudo ppa-purge ppa: gnome3-team / gnome3-next
It is possible to restore Gnome 3.10 to Gnome 3.8 in the Ubuntu 13.10 repository. To completely remove Gnome 3, use the following command:

Sudo apt-get remove gnome-shell ubuntu-gnome-desktop
Of course, you should remove any applications that you install for Gnome 3.10.
