  Ensure that the system has been installed and configured apache, net-snmp, gd

1. Install MRTG
#cd / usr / local / www
#gzip -d mrtg-2.16.2.tar.gz
#tar xvf mrtg-2.16.2.tar
#cd mrtg-2.16.2
#. / Configure --with-gd-lib = / usr / local / lib
#make
#make install
#make clean

2. Configure mrtg
Mrtg configuration file into the directory:
/ Var / apache2 / htdocs / mrtg
Creating mrtg configuration file using cfgmaker:
# / Usr / local / mrtg-2 / bin / cfgmaker public@172.23.1.7> mrtg.cfg
Remember to replace your top 172.23.1.7 host name or IP address of my internal test I use 172.23.1.7
Edit mrtg.conf:
#vi mrtg.cfg
WorkDir: / var / apache2 / htdocs / mrtg

3. Generate index.html file:
# / Usr / local / mrtg-2 / bin / indexmaker -title = "mrtg.cn" -output = / var / apache2 / htdocs / mrtg / index.html mrtg.cfg
File copy libgd.so.2
#cp /usr/local/lib/libgd.so.2 / usr / lib
Multi run times:
# / Usr / local / mrtg-2 / bin / mrtg mrtg.cfg
Until no error

4.Check whether the service is started cron
#svcs | grep cron
online 14:35:04 svc: / system / cron: default
Check crontab file
#crontab -l
Create crontab
#export EDITOR = vi
#crontab -e
Join five minutes running time
0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55 * * * * / usr / local / mrtg-2 / bin / mrtg / var / apache2 / htdocs / mrtg / mrtg. cfg
