  1. Description of the problem
Today need to see Ubuntu system log files, but did not find / var / log / messages file. Online data search elements, that is to configure /etc/syslog.conf. syslog using configurable unified system registration process, ready to accept requests from the entire system log, then according to the preset /etc/syslog.conf to log information into the appropriate file to a specific user or mailed directly to the way message to the console.

Well, the problem again. The system is still not /etc/syslog.conf, after some search elements, the final conclusion is: Under Ubuntu correspondence should be /etc/rsyslog.conf and rsyslogd.

2. Solution
About syslog.conf file and the file functions under syslog.d rsyslog.conf explained by looking at the file, all configuration files are found in /etc/rsyslog.d/ folder.
