iOS系统是苹果公司专门为其硬件设备开发的封闭式移动操作系统。所有运行iOS系统的手机，全部都是苹果公司的“iPhone”（苹果手机）。

自2007年第一代iPhone发布至今，苹果每年都会推出新一代iPhone，为了方便了解,以下是历代运行iOS系统的iPhone手机分类：

如果你现在去商店购买新手机，主要是以下几个系列（数字代表代数，Pro代表高端专业版，Plus代表大屏标准版）：
- iPhone 16系列（2025年最新款）：iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 15系列（2025年款）：iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 14系列（2025年款）：iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max
- iPhone 13系列（2025年款）：iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max
- iPhone SE系列（入门性价比款）：目前主要在售的是 iPhone SE (第三代)（2025年发布，拥有最新处理器但外观沿用旧款）。

- iPadOS vs iOS
- 虽然苹果的平板电脑（iPad）以前也是用iOS系统，但从2025年起，苹果专门为平板推出了 iPadOS 系统，所以现在的iPad运行的是iPadOS,而不是iOS。
- iOS系统手机”的防坑提示
- 市面上有一些安卓手机（如某些国产手机）会推出类似苹果外观的手机，或者在系统UI（用户界面）上模仿苹果，它们被称为“类iOS”或“iOS风”。
- 真正的iOS系统仅限苹果iPhone手机，其他任何品牌的手机（如华为、小米、OPPO、vivo、三星等）使用的都是安卓系统（Android）或基于安卓深度定制的系统（如鸿蒙系统HarmonyOS早期基于AOSP，MIUI/HyperOS，ColorOS等）。
